Today the Internet got to be limp… among the few websites that was possible to reach - hi5.com
And recently I’ve got another bunch of “you don’t have a hi5 account? are you still alive?” kind of replies.
So.. I said “ok, let’s fill in the time with another crazy try”
Result: I created another fake account - Started with the right foot, putting in my name, an avatar, schools, etc. But at some moment, it all collapsed.
First of all.. how hard can it be to merge the schools together. Same school, but different writing. You end up joining 5 high schools, which is basically just one. One is CNVA, the other one C.N.V.A. , the other one is Colegiul National Vasile Alecsandri.. and to no surprise.. there’s also Colegiul National Vasile Alexandri
It gets even worse, when you skip to joining a college. There are at least 15 names for the Romanian-American University in Bucharest. Hi5 is so well built that you can even have the same name for the same school/college in the same city-country pair.
Then, you end up looking through the people in your school/college. And you see those lame faces, lame avatars.. And you kind of think.. should I start adding anyone as my friend?! Among the people I knew, there were some smart figures.. which actually made their profile hidden to non-friends user. But then again.. isn’t the purpose of hi5 to be “social”?
Maybe I shouldn’t go through the skinning, but.. hey.. I ended up searching through the top 35 most popular skins… only to find one that was sort of ok. It all seemed as if in the network there are so many psychos that like shitty designs that I could get corrupted somehow (to be understood as “stupidized”)
So after 15 minutes of skin searching, another 30 of playing with the schools.. I ended up deleting my avatar, leaving the school(s), erasing my profile info, and changing the email address to a non-used one.
Sorry guys.. I really tried. Once again. Maybe… next year?!
